+ The Flying Camel +

November 2005 - June 2006

My graduation project at Kalisher Scool of Art was a short film titled Having Fun with Colloquial Arabic. Its content was built up gradually from a large collection of aural and visual materials. These include reassembled recordings of Arabic lessons, documentary footage from Tel Aviv and Bethlehem, musical pieces, photographs, and computer-animated sequences.

+++ The Camel Quest

Starting off at the tourist shops on Ben Yehuda street in Tel Aviv, I documented my investigation into the life of a souvenir olivewood camel, tracing its route from the Tel Aviv retailer back to Palestinian craftsman. On Cristmas Eve 2005 I set off to Bethlehem to find a camel-carver's workshop. My quest ended at the Holy Land Museum, where I finally learned how olivewood camels are made.

+++ Teach Yourself Arabic

I reassembled the recodings accompanying the book "Having Fun with Colloquial Arabic" (narrated by the author, Proffesor Moshe Sharon) and used them as an ongoing soundtrack/script throughout the film.
